Hello! I am Agnes
My name is Agnes Hjalmarsson, and I’m a Swedish oil painter and content creator. My work explores themes of identity, culture, and belonging, often drawing from my own mixed heritage and personal experiences.
After a short time in fine art school, I realized the academic path wasn’t for me. So, for the past few years, I’ve been carving out my own way as a self-taught, full-time artist, documenting the process on Instagram and YouTube, and building a community of artists who care deeply about using art to say something real.
In my courses, you will explore how artists throughout history have used portraiture to express a range of emotions, from vulnerability and identity to politics and play. Through different modules covering a bit of art history, hands-on exercises, and time to create, with prompts designed to help you develop the meaning behind your pieces.
Whether you’re looking to improve your technical skills or reconnect with yourself creatively, I hope these courses offer a space to explore and create something that feels like you.
